Pike
The big pike genus
is native to the Palearctic and Nearctic ecozones, ranging across
northern North America and from Western Europe to Siberia in
Eurasia. They have been establish in many urban lakes in Western
Europe, reported to be in the Rostrum (Lucerne) and the Serpentine,
(London).Pike can raise to a maximum recorded length of 1.83
metres (6 ft), triumph a maximum recorded weight of 35 kilograms
(77 lb). The UK record pike was caught at Llandegfedd Reservoir
in Wales in 1992.[2] Individuals have been reported to reach
30 years in age. They have the extended, torpedo-like form of
predatory fishes, with sharply-pointed heads and sharp teeth.
Their coloration is typically grey-green with a mottled or spotted
exterior with stripes along its back, perfectly veiled among
weeds. Individual pike marking patterns are unique, like fingerprints.
Pomfret
Pomfret
are perciform fishes belonging to the family Bramidae. The name
Perciformes means perch-like. They go to the ray-finned fish
and consist of over 7000 different species, with changeable
shapes and sizes, found in almost all aquatic environments.
They are also the most variably sized order of vertebrates,
ranging from the 7mm (0.3 in) Schindleria brevipinguis to the
5m (16.5 ft) large Makaira species. They first appeared and
diversify in the Late Cretaceous. Perciform fish classically
have dorsal and anal fins divided into anterior spiny and posterior
soft-rayed portions, which may be partially or completely separated.
There are usually pelvic fins with one spine and up to five
soft rays, either positioned by the throat or under the belly.
Scales are usually ctenoid in form, though sometimes they are
cycloid or otherwise modified. Various other, more technical
characters define the group.
Sablefish
The sablefish (Anoplopoma
fimbria) is a type of deep sea fish common to the North Pacific
Ocean. Adult sablefish are opportunistic feeders, predatory
on fish (including walleye pollock, eulachon, capelin, herring,
sandlance, and Pacific cod), squid, euphasids. Sablefish are
long-lived, with a maximum recorded age of 94 years.
Sablefish are very high in vigorous long-chain omega 3 fatty
acids, EPA and DHA. It contains around as much as wild salmon.
In addition, sablefish are also very little in PCBs, dioxins,
and mercury.
Salmon
Salmon is the common
name for numerous species of fish of the family Salmonidae.
The fish is pink and silver. Several other fish in the family
are called trout. Salmon live in both the Atlantic and Pacific
Oceans, as well as the Great Lakes and other lakes.
Typically, salmon are anadromous: they are born in fresh water,
migrate to the ocean, then return to fresh water to replicate.

fish comprising the family Malacanthidae.Commercial fisheries

or breastfeeding women against eating them due to mercury contamination.
The smaller, exceptionally colourful species are enjoyed in
the aquarium.Due to their low fecundities; commercially important
species are endangered by overfishing via long-line and bottom

Whitefish
Whitefish (white fish,
demersal fish) is a fisheries expression referring to numerous
variety of pelagic deep water fish with fins, mostly cod (Gadus
morhua), whiting (Merluccius bilinearis), and haddock (Melanogrammus
aeglefinus), but also hake (Urophycis), pollock (Pollachius),
or others.Unlike oily fish, white fish direct oils only in their
