The Gulf of Guinea is the gulf of the Atlantic Ocean that lies west of Africa. The junction of the Equator and Prime Meridian lies in the gulf. The Gulf's oceanic boundary is the rhumb line that passes from Cape Palmas in Liberia to Cape Lopez in Gabon

Niger and the Volta are the main rivers that drain into the gulf. The Bight of Benin and the Bight of Bonny is the coast on the gulf.

Resources: This area is one of the world's top oil and gas exploration place. Therefore, the Gulf area, along with the Congo River delta and Angola may supply oil around a quarter of the United States' by 2015.
