Bothnian Sea

The Bothnian Sea connects the Bothnian Bay and the Baltic proper and between these two is the Kvarken. The Bothnian Sea and Bothnian Bay together forms a great geographical body, the Gulf of Bothnia. The Gulf of Bothnia is surrounded by the Sweden to the West, Finland to the East, and the Sea of Åland and Archipelago Sea to the South.

The Bothnian Sea covers the surface area of about 79,000 km². Rauma and Pori in Finland, and Gävle and Sundsvall in Sweden are the largest towns in the coast. The Bothnian Bay is famous for tourism.
