DESCRIPTION

This Australian flatback sea turtle is a kind of turtle that is located along the sandy beaches and in the deep coastal waters of Australia. They live only in waters in the continental shelf.

DIET

The flatback sea turtle is different kind of species that is omnivorous but also intakes a carnivorous diet. They usually feed on the prey that is found near shallow waters . Their diet mainly consists of sea cucumbers, soft corals, shrimps, jellyfish, mollusks, and any other invertebrates.

HABITAT

These turtles mostly found in the subtropical and tropical waters and they lives in the shallow areas too. They stick to the continental shelf of Australia and can be found near bays, grassy areas, lagoons and estuaries.

RANGE

These flat back turtles found near the Pacific ocean and coastal areas of Australia. It is very less in number.

POPULATION

The population ranges from 20,000 to 21,000.
